PLAN OF ACTION to steer WARD towards the Fourth World Congress of Rural Women in 2007

"The women that marched on 9 August 1956, 50 years ago, left a legacy for us. Our challenge is to take up the spear where they left off by addressing the challenges that face us today, so that 50 years from today, our daughters can say our mothers left a legacy for us".
The Honourable Minister for Agriculture and Land Affairs, Republic of South Africa, Ms Lulu Xingwana

"Despite the many challenges that our society still faces towards total emancipation of women, at least in this country, women can attest that democracy has brought about a level of advancement in championing our course that could not have been remotely imaginable during our apartheid past".

Ms. NN Mapisa-Nqakula, The Honourable Minister for Home Affairs ,Republic of South Africa
